What people call about
Three jobs cover most calls on this coast. Here is what each one actually involves.
Nearly every roof call on the Coastal Bend is one of three things. Wind has lifted or torn something off and there is an insurance claim in it. The roof has reached the end of its life and you want a number before you commit. Or water is getting in at one spot and the rest of the roof is fine.
They are different jobs with different costs and different paperwork, and the biggest mistake is treating the second one as the first. A roof that is simply old is not a claim, and a contractor who tells you otherwise is steering you somewhere you do not want to be.
- Metal roofs Why metal suits this coast, and the two details that decide whether it lasts.
- Roof costs The coastal lines that make one estimate higher than the next, and which ones to keep.
- Leaks and flashing Most leaks are a detail failing, not the field of the roof giving up.
- Roof replacement What a coastal tear off costs to think about, and the WPI-8 nobody mentions.
- Wind damage What uplift looks like, and the rules a Texas roofer has to follow on a claim.
